5.13 S7-200 (PPI - ISOTCP)<br />
5.13.1 Introduction<br />
<strong>General</strong> <strong>Reference</strong> <strong>Guide</strong> IO Servers Configuration<br />
The S7200 IO Server is dedicated to communicate directly with SIEMENS PLC of family S7-200.<br />
Since firmware 5.7, all <strong>eWON</strong> types, with serial port or with MPI port, are able to communicate in both PPI modes (MonoMaster and<br />
MultiMaster).<br />
Then, to communicate with a S7-200 device you could use either an <strong>eWON</strong> with a serial port or an <strong>eWON</strong> with an MPI port.<br />
Usually, the <strong>eWON</strong> will be connected directly to the PLC’s PPI interface.<br />
Since firmware 5.5, <strong>eWON</strong>s with an MPI port are able to communicate on a PPI MultiMaster bus.<br />
Since firmware 5.7, <strong>eWON</strong>s with a serial port are able to communicate on a PPI MultiMaster bus.<br />
The <strong>eWON</strong> acts always as MASTER.<br />
The standard serial port of <strong>eWON</strong> must be configure in RS-485 (with dipswitch) to communicate in PPI.<br />
The ISOTCP (Ethernet) is available on all the <strong>eWON</strong> types.<br />
5.13.2 Setup<br />
5.13.2.1 Gateway configuration<br />
Usage<br />
MonoMaster<br />
<strong>eWON</strong> is the ONLY Master on the PPI network.<br />
MultiMaster<br />
<strong>eWON</strong> is not the only Master on the PPI network.<br />
Other masters (HMI or PPI multimaster programming cables)<br />
may be present at the same time on the PPI bus.<br />
