Enabling Instant Messenger Integration An Administrator must enable Instant Messenger for your ChatSpace Community. 1. From the Configuration Tool, access the General tab. 2. Click the Advanced button. The Advanced Options dialog box is displayed. 3. Check the box for Enable Instant Messenger Integration. 4. Click OK. 5. Restart the Community Server for the changes to be enabled. Note Notify the logged in members before restarting the server. Using ChatSpace Instant Messenger The site you are using may also have deployed the ChatSpace Instant Messenger. This is essentially a special view of the Buddy List (described above) with the ability to send quick messages to buddies. Accessing the ChatSpace Instant Messenger. If the site you are using allows access to the ChatSpace Instant Messenger, then the site’s webmaster generally creates a link on the website for it. Instant Messenger Window The Instant Messenger window has an appearance similar to a handheld device.
