Clustering Tab The Clustering tab allows you to define other servers that your server can connect to (or cluster with). Clustered servers allow two or more servers to share rooms and members. Note This configuration item is not available from the Remote Administration Interface. This tab only available in ChatSpace Premium. Network Configuration Select one these options to define the type and complexity of ChatSpace network that you are using. Simple—select this radio button to create a simple ChatSpace network. This type of network contains ten or fewer servers, with no hub-leaf relationship defined. 35
Complex—select this radio button to create a complex ChatSpace network. In a complex configuration, some servers are designated as hubs and other servers are designated as leaves. Hub Servers This list of servers is used to define the hubs in a complex network. A hub server provides a central point of communication for a group of ChatSpace servers. The other servers are referred to as leaves. The list is grayed out if a simple network configuration is selected. The topmost entry is the first hub server that is accesses, followed by the others as they appear in the list. Add—click this button to add a hub server to the list. Adding servers is discussed more in Server Connections on page 37. Edit—click this button to edit the hub server currently selected in the list. Delete—deletes the hub server currently selected in the list. Other Servers/Leaf Servers The list title changes according to the type of network that is being used. If ChatSpace is using a simple network, this list contains the Other Servers to which the current server will be connected. If ChatSpace is using a complex network, this list provides the Leaf Servers that connect to the ChatSpace network through the hub which you are configuring. Add—click this button to add a server to the list. Adding servers is discussed more in Server Connections on page 37. Edit—click this button to edit the server currently selected in the list.
