Server Connections The Server Connection dialog box is displayed whenver the Add or Edit button is clicked to configure a server in the Hub, Leaf or Other Servers lists. This example is for a simple network configuration. If you select a Complex Network Configuration in the Clustering tab, the field is not displayed for the May not connect leaves check box. Server Connection Fields Top field—enter the name of the server, as you want it displayed in the list. Disabled—check this box to disable this entry. The server ignores it completely. This option is not included for when configuring a hub server. May not connect to leaves—check this box to not allow the server defined in this entry to connect to other servers. ServerName—this name is the name of the server defined by the entry. This must match the ServerName field set in the other servers’ Configuration Tool, under the General Tab. 37
Ping freq—this frequency is the time (in seconds) between pings to verify that the server is still active. Use the arrow buttons to select your preferred value. Connect-Out Info Allow connect-out to server—check this box to allow /CONNECT commands to be issued to connect to this server. If this box is not checked, the only way to connect the server is for the other server to issue connection. One of the servers, or both, must have this box checked. Hostname—this name is the TCP/IP hostname of the server defined by this entry. If this is a dynamic name (changes every day), the other server should get an unchanging hostname. Port—this is the port on the other server to which this server connects. This value is usually 6667. Auto connect—check this box to automatically try to connect to this server when it is not already connected. Connect freq (secs)—this value defines the number of seconds between auto-connect attempts. Use the arrow buttons to select your preferred value. Passwords Sent—this password is sent from the server being configured to the server defined in this entry. This pasword must match the value the other server expects, as defined on that server. Expected—the password the server being configured expects from the server defined in this entry. This password must match the value the other server sends, as defined on the server being configured. 38
