Security Tab The Security tab allows you to set security options for your server, such as Server Bans, Prohibited Nicknames, and Forbidden Words. Server Bans (Klines) This list contains members that are banned from this ChatSpace server. All banned members are not able to log into the server. The Add and Edit buttons display the Server Ban dialog box in which you must enter the user information. Add—click this button to add a member to the Server Ban list. Edit—click this button to edit the currently selected member’s information for the Server Ban list. Delete—click this button to delete the currently selected member from the Server Ban list. This action allows the member to again access the server. 39
Server Ban Fields Userid—enter the userid of the member you wish to ban from the server You should always include a wildcard (*), as a member can easily change their userid to avoid the server ban. Hostname—enter the hostname pattern of the member you wish to ban from your server. Be sure to include a wildcard (*) anywhere in the hostname where there are numbers. Reason—enter the reason for this member is being banned from the server. Prohibited Nicknames This list defines the nicknames that are not allowed to be used on the server. Server Administrators are not affected by this setting. Note This configuration item is not available from the Remote Administration Interface. Add—click this button to add a prohibited nickname. Edit—click this button to edit the currently selected Prohibited Nickname. Delete—click this button to delete the currently selected Prohibited Nickname. Prohibited Nickname Fields Nickname—enter the nickname pattern that you do not want used on this server Reason—reason for prohibition of this nickname. 40
