In <strong>2012</strong>, it was decided to completely revise Ungaluk,<br />

including the application process, selection criteria and performance<br />

indicators. <strong>Makivik</strong> has retained the service of the<br />

International Centre for the Prevention of Crime to help with<br />

this revision. A new set of Ungaluk documents will provide a<br />

guide for applicants, provide a better understanding of the<br />

concept of crime prevention and provide other important<br />

details about the funding program.<br />

Ungaluk has set priorities and objectives in the hope of<br />

receiving more proposals that focus on social issues related<br />

to justice, education, health, family issues and victim support.<br />

<br />

the school dropout rate, bullying, mental health for victims of<br />

sexual abuse and other violence, healthy choices for youth,<br />

parenting skills, and support for crime victims following legal<br />

proceedings. Cultural and traditional Inuit oriented projects<br />

are highly supported.<br />

During the past year, Ungaluk faced the challenge of<br />

continuing to receive applications from proponents, while<br />

the new application package had not yet been introduced<br />

to the public. Project managers were open to the ideas for<br />

Ungaluk’s planned program revisions and were content with<br />

necessary recommendations related to project partnerships<br />

in which Ungaluk has often been the main source of funding.<br />

n’était pas encore disponible. Les gestionnaires<br />

de projets ont bien accueilli les nouveaux critères et les<br />

nouvelles lignes directrices du programme Ungaluk. Le<br />

personnel chargé de l’application d’Ungaluk a également<br />

formulé des recommandations au sujet de projets de partenariat<br />

pour lesquels Ungaluk a souvent été la principale<br />

Il est encourageant de constater que les organismes et<br />

les intervenants du Nunavik ont bien accueilli la nouvelle<br />
