Why did you choose to pursue a career as a researcher? What
motivates you?
Since I started my research as a doctoral candidate, I continuously
found new areas of study which have given me new ideas for my
research. I find myself very lucky to have had the chance to work in
excellent academic positions in various research institutions, providing
me with a good research platform in general. Studying new ideas and
working in productive and creative environments are two things that
make being a researcher worthwhile for me.
What is the main focus of your research?
Building upon my interdisciplinary training in subjects including
Economics and Financial Mathematics, my current primary research
focus is centered on the investigation of pension problems, such as
overlapping-generational risk sharing, mortality risk and longevity risk
pricing.
What do you expect from the job as a Juniorprofessor?
The Institute for Risk Management and Insurance at the Munich
Risk and Insurance Center (MRIC) has developed a robust network
with leading financial industry scholars throughout the world. Through
hard work and dedication, I intend to take advantage of this network
to establish additional international research collaborations. I also hope
that I will be able to collaborate with some of the resident researchers at
the LMU since they are known for their excellent work.
What can students expect from you?
I want to draw from my international experiences at different institutions
in order to offer high-quality teaching at LMU. Additionally,
I will use insights from my own research and provide the students with
interesting projects in Insurance, Finance and Economics.
