The GREK 101, 102, 201 sequence covers the full grammar<br />

and syntax of the Classical language and prepares the<br />

student to read and write basic prose. This series requires<br />

one additional weekly contact hour for drill and practice.<br />

Elementary Greek I<br />

3 Semester Hours<br />

The fundamentals of Classical Greek, including three<br />

declensions, personal and demonstrative pronouns,<br />

adjectives; the omega verb: present, imperfect, future, first<br />

aorist, active, and middle-passive; exercises in reading.<br />

GREK 102<br />

Elementary Greek II<br />

3 Semester Hours<br />

A continuation of GREK 101, including second aorist,<br />

perfect active, middle-passive; aorist passive; subjunctive;<br />

participles; relative pronouns; exercises in reading.<br />

Prerequisite: GREK 101 or equivalent.<br />

Basic prose composition and study of poetic forms.<br />

Readings in the Iliad and/or Odyssey.<br />
