Application Process for the Education Specialist Credential:<br />

Mild/Moderate Disabilities<br />

1) Successful completion of all of the requirements<br />

outlined above.<br />

2) Students must submit an official transcript with<br />

the degree posted to the Credential Office in the<br />

School of Education.<br />

3) Complete the Credential application through the<br />

School of Education to the Commission on Teacher<br />

Credentialing, State of California (additional fee<br />

required; see website for more information).<br />

Review by the Teacher Admission and Advisory Committee<br />

(TAAC)<br />

After the requirements for each section outlined above have<br />

been completed, the candidate’s file will be submitted to<br />

the TAAC for review. It is the student’s responsibility to<br />

ensure that all items have been received. Students will<br />

be notified of the committee’s decision in writing. All<br />

documents become the property of the <strong>University</strong> and will<br />

not be released to any person or institution.<br />

Professional Level II Education Specialist Credential:<br />

Mild/Moderate Disabilities Credential<br />

Candidates who have completed the Preliminary Level I<br />

Mild/Moderate Specialist Credential Program and have a<br />

full-time special education teaching position working with<br />

students with mild/moderate disabilities must enroll in<br />

an approved program for Professional Level II Education<br />

Specialist Credential within 120 calendar days of service<br />

on the Preliminary Credential. (See Graduate <strong>Bulletin</strong> for<br />

more details.)<br />

Psychology, and Catholic School Administration. Please<br />
