Review of electromagnetic theory. Applied geometrical<br />

Thermodynamics and Statistical Mechanics<br />

Classical thermodynamics, applications to simple systems.<br />

Kinetic theory and the approach to equilibrium. Classical<br />

statistical mechanics. Quantum statistics.<br />

Historical introduction. Symmetries and conservation laws.<br />

Feynman diagrams and rules. Quantum electrodynamics.<br />

interactions and electroweak unification. Gauge theories<br />

and the Standard Model.<br />
