Typography II<br />

3 Semester Hours<br />

Typography II extends the fundamental concepts introduced<br />

in Typography I, ART 368. Projects emphasize advanced<br />

typographic principles as they are applied to multiple levels<br />

of text in both print and multimedia.<br />

Prerequisites: ART 160, 260, 360, and 368; Senior<br />

standing.<br />

ART 478<br />

Ceramics Workshop<br />

3 Semester Hours<br />

Design problems with ceramic materials incorporating wheelthrown<br />

and hand building techniques. Development of a<br />

personal style in addition to advanced firing techniques.<br />

May be repeated for degree credit with consent of<br />

instructor.<br />

Prerequisite: ART 278 or consent of instructor.<br />

ART 481<br />

Color Photography<br />

3 Semester Hours<br />

Introduction to general color principles and lab procedures.<br />

Emphasis on personal expression.<br />

May be repeated for degree credit with consent of<br />

instructor.<br />

Prerequisite: ART 280.<br />

ART 485<br />

Advanced Printmaking<br />

1-3 Semester Hours<br />

Continuation and more advanced work in relief, etching, or<br />

silkscreen techniques.<br />

May be repeated for degree credit with consent of<br />

instructor.<br />

Prerequisite: ART 385 or 386 or 387.<br />

Multimedia Internship<br />

3 Semester Hours<br />

Professional experience in multimedia.<br />

Prerequisites: Art major and consent of instructor.<br />

Advanced Studio Studies<br />

1-3 Semester Hours<br />

ART AND ART HISTORY / 303<br />

Pre-professional directed study in studio art.<br />

May be repeated for degree credit three times.<br />

Prerequisite: Permission of instructor and Department<br />

Chairperson.<br />

ART 497<br />

Senior Thesis<br />

1-3 Semester Hours<br />

This course continues for Fine Arts emphasis students the<br />

professional development experience of ART 397, Senior<br />

Seminar. The curriculum includes all aspects of exhibition<br />

design, promotion, and artwork presentation.<br />

Required for Fine Arts Emphasis majors.<br />

Prerequisites: ART 397 and Art Major Fine Arts Emphasis,<br />

or consent of instructor.<br />
