An introduction to classical and contemporary metaphysics,<br />

the general theory of being. Topics often include analogy,<br />

essence and existence, matter and form, potency and act,<br />

causality, and the transcendentals.<br />

An exploration of the nature of mind. Topics may vary<br />

and may include consciousness, experience, the self,<br />

the historical discovery of mind, and consideration of<br />

psychological theories of mental operations. Alternative<br />

theories will be critically examined.<br />

A seminar course which aims to expose students to the<br />
