Donald E Scott. [5-11] is the third man of great importance to me and to the theories that underpin the EU model. Don is a retired Professor of Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, whose nononsense approach I especially identify with through a small kinship I feel because of us both coming from the world of electrical engineering. The obvious difference being, of course, that he taught in a university for 39 years while I would have been fixing motors, switchgear and fuses during that same period! Don’s book about the EU, ‘The Electric Sky’, was the first one I read and the one from which I rapidly formed my first impressions, then a basic understanding of the radical new model being proposed. Thank you most sincerely, Don. I remember and admire the bravery he displayed not so many years ago by standing in front of a gathering of NASA scientists to present to them aspects of electrical science theory from the EU model. I truly wonder what impression he made on that gathering. Don’s work, like Wal’s, has been at the scientific roots of EU theory. My own view is that Don has been like “a dug wae a bone” (a dog with a bone) as we say here in Scotland, when it comes to working out the intricate details of mathematical proofs that support findings from the electrical and plasma research laboratories. Anyone who says there is no substantial mathematical support for EU theories should look at Don’s and Wal’s work and the work of the many other people who have specifically addressed this question. I titled this chapter “The work of the honourable but ignored” … and I fully stand behind the sentiment carried in those words. Most of these people have been, whether some of them got to know it or not, the architects of the EU model we have today. Some of them remain as the standard-bearers whose continuing efforts are now making significant inroads with the current astro-science establishment; they are to be applauded for their efforts and dedication. I must say, however, that I feel quite sad when I consider that it is the classic failings of humans that appear to have been responsible for the suppression of the good work of these and other good people. But on a personal and positive note, the thing that has to a significant extent arisen from this particular aspect, has been my motivation to write this book. There are many other individuals who are currently doing notable work to help support and develop aspects of the EU model and who absolutely deserve a mention here as well. My hat is off to all those folks as well. We now have all the required ingredients for tackling what I have been banging on about with my references to the Electric Universe model and its theories. 6 | The Electric Universe answers I see This chapter presents my interpretation of the theories of the Electric Universe model. It has been my own understanding of scientific theory and electrical engineering that has allowed me to see the common sense and logic contained in that model. The picture I now have goes beyond notions of gravity’s effects to provide me with what I now consider to be the best foundation for understanding the real makeup and operation of our universe. My desire is not to debate this with those who need mathematical or scientific proofs, for these aspects are well covered by those from whose work I have drawn together my thoughts and interpretations. What I present is one lay person’s view of what really seems to be going on, and I will leave the defence of the supporting detail to those science workers and other well educated supporters of the EU model who are far better equipped than I am to explain that detail. What I intend as a thinking non-professional, is to point out what I consider to be the stark common sense and logical differences between the questionable ‘facts’ the mainstream has so far presented us with, and what the more credible EU model reveals and explains through its theories. The final judgement on this I am content to leave to you, the reader. The Standard Model of the universe invokes the force of gravity and the thermonuclear fusion process to explain just about everything that is physical in the universe. Both these aspects remain unproven in terms of what their overall effects are said to be responsible for, but still the ideas around them remain as dominant ‘scientific truths’ that people just accept as true. In contrast, the EU model does not claim anything other than to provide alternative theories for actual observations and recorded events for which gravity, fusion and mechanical interactions between matter have traditionally been assigned as explanations. Achieving this more realistic goal is attempted by emphasising the relevance of four particular things; fundamental proven science, the past and present research work of honourable scientists and forward thinkers, evidence arising from the continually improving data we are receiving from space and the application of common sense and logical analysis. We will see shortly that the case for the real force behind everything being the electric force is a strong one. Electric currents flow and interact within our universe through a network of plasma filaments and sheets of all dimensions and forms. On the grandest scale, the filaments stretch for billions of light years; they are the evolved networks of cosmic scale Birkeland currents that originally drew matter together in the distant past to form the galaxies themselves. Galaxies too have their internal filamentary networks and plasma sheets as sources and conduits for power that sparks the birth of new stars of all types and sizes by initiating forces that draw together available surrounding matter. After a star’s birth, when the energy of the Birkeland currents from which it hailed stabilises, its glow is maintained by electric power flowing in from its cosmic environment. The various scales, power outputs and appearances these resulting stars present allows them to be mistakenly interpreted as different cosmic objects that require separate explanations for their creation and operation. 4 | The Electric Universe answers I see
