In terms of what I felt I could do personally about this, I decided that because I could see a need to tell others that the information was there to be had, and to provide it to them, I should summarise its major aspects into a simplified form and make that generally available. With this as an objective and the self-belief that I have some ability in producing less intimidating language from the sometimes difficult-to-understand concepts of others, I duly came up with a plan for this book. I considered it important that I use non-complex language and helpful graphics in describing the theories involved. Overall, the book would be my personal summary of how our universe actually functions and a cursory account of how in my opinion we have been led up the garden path by organisations, institutions and certain individuals, who for a very long time have become heavily invested in activities that have evolved with and supported the gravity-based SM. The Book The story emerges from late in the 1800s and brings us to today as we leave behind the first decade of the 21st century. It begins with a summary of what we are currently told about the workings of our universe then goes on to look briefly at major controversial aspects of that story. Described then is the background to how today’s astro-science has evolved through what some would say are less desirable but understandable aspects of human nature. Thoughts are offered on how this may have come about and why the situation remains unchanged today. The next piece goes into some detail on major questions around the theories and deductions currently supported by today’s astro-science. These cover the well-known and thorny areas of black holes, dark matter, dark energy, neutron stars, quasars and more. I then go on to outline the major problems these aspects of theory now face through the ever increasing number of questions about them that the SM is unable to adequately answer. I prepare then for the rest of the book through a review of some basic science and electrical engineering theories, this being a reminder for some which should help with getting to grips with the basics of the electrical and plasma theories described in the rest of the book. I then expand on the background to all this by highlighting the significant and honourable ‘other scientists’ and their work, these being just some of the important characters associated with the electrical and plasma theories which underpin the EU model. Even today, the work of these and other people is often suppressed, ignored and occasionally attacked by the science establishment. I then consider structures, objects and events in our universe from the EU model perspective and look in detail at the answers it offers that address the questions previously raised. We also explore the EU model as a more rational and logical basis for understanding what we observe and detect these days in space through our earthbased observatories and space-based satellite instrumentation. 7 | Introduction
The big picture that opens up is breathtaking and the serious questions that exist around the preoccupation that astro-science has with highly questionable theories will be seen as profound and puzzling in terms of why those questions still do not receive a fair and balanced public airing. I will attempt to give a sense throughout the book of the shared frustration that exists around this by posing the following questions … • • • • • • • • Why has this situation come about and why are we justified in being suspicious of information coming from today's astro-science establishment? Why are the self-serving motivations of some being allowed to support a story about our universe that is not in line with observed reality? Why do we not honour the people who have devoted their lives in alternative ways to scientific progress and to what is obviously now there to be judged as more productive and meaningful research? Why do we continue to teach our children 'truths' that are actually only ideas and theories that have clearly been shown to be highly questionable and some even wrong? Why do we continue to bestow honours and funding on people who put time into complex speculative work based on bad theories which achieves nothing in terms of practical steps forward? Why do we never hear about the scientists and research workers who continue daily to work on 'science with substance' but who are forced to work in the shadows? Why do we fail to see through mathematical smoke screens and theoretical nonsense to appreciate the much simpler common sense explanations in front of our eyes? Why does the public not pay more attention to these things and what should we be doing about this? Please understand as you carry on that I do not wish to come across as being too big for my boots, and neither do I intend offence to any reasonable person. I only want to tell a story that I have come to passionately believe in. Whatever anyone decides to do with this information is completely in their own hands. In writing what I have, there has been no desire to compete with those who are academically qualified in astro-science, theoretical mathematics, or indeed any other discipline. I understand the devotion of scientists to defend their dedication to the theories they choose to support. I am not able to argue against the complicated mathematics and detailed scientific 'evidence' they are no doubt capable of putting on the table. I am simply attempting to present in this book my own interpretation of the work done and conclusions reached so far by professional scientists and researchers who have obviously found substantial reason to put their names and reputations on the line by supporting the EU model. | Introduction
