The employer, the graduate and a college counselor, with the advice of appropriate<br />

teaching faculty, will develop an educational plan that specifies the course(s) constituting<br />

the 15 credit hours of retraining. The graduate must meet all prerequisites, corequi<br />

sites and other admission requirements for retraining courses. Failure, withdrawal or<br />

audit of a retraining course(s) is creditable to the 15 credit hour limit.<br />

<strong>Pellissippi</strong> <strong>State</strong> will waive tuition and fees. The graduate or the employer will bear<br />

the costs of books, supplies and other related costs.<br />

REGENTS ONLINE DEGREE PROGRAMS<br />

The Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) colleges and universities have joined<br />

together in offering Regents Online Degree <strong>Program</strong>s (RODP). Courses completed<br />

in the Regents Online Degree <strong>Program</strong>s are entirely online and are completely transferable<br />

among all the participating institutions that are accredited. Students are able<br />

to choose the college or university that will award their degree. All 13 TBR twoyear<br />

colleges deliver and award associate’s degrees, and all six TBR universities<br />

deliver and award bachelor’s degrees. A C a r e e r / Technical program leading to the<br />

Associate of Applied Science degree in Professional Studies with a concentration in<br />

Information Technology is available through <strong>Pellissippi</strong> <strong>State</strong>. Students can further<br />

their education after the associate’s degree by pursuing one of three bachelor’s<br />

degree programs:<br />

Bachelor of Professional Studies/Information Technology Concentration<br />

Bachelor of Professional Studies/Organizational Leadership Concentration<br />

Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (General Studies/Liberal<br />

Studies/University Studies)<br />

Students who pursue online programs should be highly motivated, independent,<br />

active learners who have good organizational and time management skills. Students<br />

should also have the discipline to study without external reminders and be able to<br />
