<strong>Community</strong> Planner: Uses GIS technology to design and develop a community<br />
database to assist planning commissions and other government boards to present<br />
alternative plans to the public and make decisions regarding growth plans and planning<br />
and zoning decisions.<br />
Economic Development GIS Specialist: Uses GIS technology to create and manage<br />
regional economic, demographic and resource data to use in evaluating broad development<br />
opportunities and to use as a presentation medium to attract investment and<br />
development that is desired.<br />
After successfully completing the GIS program, the graduate will be equipped to do the<br />
f o l l o w i n g :<br />
I . Demonstrate understanding of fundamental GIS principles<br />
I I . Be prepared for job entry or career advancement in GIS related fields<br />
I I I . Use good verbal and written communication skills<br />
I V. Demonstrate problem-solving skills<br />

Geographic Information Systems/Business Concentration—Courses and Course Sequence<br />
