PAYROLL/TAXATION ACCOUNTING<br />
(INSTITUTIONAL CERTIFICATE)<br />
The Payroll/Taxation Accounting certificate program is designed to prepare<br />
students for jobs in individual tax preparation and payroll accounting. Students<br />
are introduced to accounting principles to prepare them for topics emphasizing<br />
individual taxation and payroll accounting as well as partnership and corporate<br />
tax laws. Students learn to process payroll checks and to prepare all tax forms<br />
related to payroll taxes. Courses in each level (Foundation, Core, A d v a n c e d<br />
Track) must be completed prior to advancing to the next level. W h e re more<br />
than one course is off e red within a level, courses may be taken in any sequence.<br />

PROJECT MANAGEMENT (INSTITUTIONAL CERTIFICATE)<br />
The Project Management certificate program provides basic skills to plan, cost<br />
and control projects. Courses can also be applied to the Management A.A.S.<br />
degree. Courses in each level (Foundation, Core, Advanced Track) must be<br />
completed priorto advancing to the next level. W h e re more than one course is<br />
o ff e red within a level, courses may be taken in any sequence.<br />

QUALITY CONTROL (INSTITUTIONAL CERTIFICATE)<br />
The Quality Control certificate program will provide an individual with basic skills<br />
needed for process control, testing and analysis of product quality. Areas of emphasis<br />
include testing fundamentals, destructive testing, nondestructive testing, computerassisted<br />
measuring and statistical process control (SPC). Associated lab exercises<br />
allow hands-on experience with testing equipment and measuring devices such as<br />
ultrasound, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, hardness, Charpy-Izod impact tests, tensile/compression<br />
tests, SPC data collection units and software, digital calipers, and<br />
coordinate measuring machines. Courses required for this certificate can be applied<br />
toward an associate’s degree. High school graduate reading and writing skills are<br />
