INTRODUCTORY WEB (INSTITUTIONAL CERTIFICATE)<br />

The Web is influencing how we learn, how we buy, how we sell and how we entertain<br />

ourselves. By completing this certificate, students will learn to<br />

• Write Web pages in HTML c o d e<br />

• Post the pages to the Internet<br />

• Create graphics for Web pages<br />

• Learn what constitutes good Web page design<br />

• Build a Web site<br />

• Create pages in a high-level Web page editor<br />

Students should have completed an introductory computer literacy course and be able<br />

to operate a personal computer before signing up for the first course. Courses in each<br />

level (Foundation, Core, Advanced Track) must be completed prior to advancing<br />

to the next level. W h e re more than one course is off e red within a level,<br />

courses may be taken in any sequence.<br />

LEGAL SECRETARY (INSTITUTIONAL CERTIFICATE)<br />

This certificate program would allow students to understand the legal terminology<br />

and to prepare legal documents in a law firm. The students in this program will take<br />

two law courses to familiarize them with legal office procedures. They will take a terminology/transcription<br />

class that will provide knowledge of the terms used in legal documents<br />

and be able to apply those terms when transcribing taped dictation. Formatting,<br />

punctuation, writing skills and proof-reading will be stressed. The OST and LAW<br />

courses taken for this certificate can be applied toward the respective associate’s<br />

degrees in those programs. Courses in each level (Foundation, Core, A d v a n c e d<br />

Track) must be completed prior to advancing to the next level. W h e re more<br />
