S o f t w a re Developer. Develops products and documentation to support computer use.
Applications Specialist. Installs client-requested software and/or provides
product output.
C o m p u t e r S u p p o rt Specialist. Provides internal technical support in the form
of Helpdesk operations.
After successfully completing the Computer Science and Information Te c h n o l o g y
program, the graduate will be equipped to do the following:
I . Express ideas and facts in written and verbal communications and work
independently or as a team member
I I . E ffectively operate and use computers, peripherals and related equipment
I I I . Understand terminology, numeric concepts, social/ethical implications
and/or system concepts associated with the information technology field
I V. Understand and use applications software, operating systems and/or systembased
products
V. Analyze problems, develop algorithms and implement solutions
V I . E ffectively use computer languages, compilers, interpreters and assembler
products to produce code and output which meet specified requirements
V I I . Understand system and software development cycles and use tools to
develop and manage the cycles
V I I I .Upgrade and develop skills which represent real-world training standards
as established by national tests, state standards, institutional goals and advisory
recommendations
I X . Use equipment and resources which are up-to-date, real-world and which
represent current trends in the employment field
X . Develop a positive attitude towards standards, rules, expectations, work and
l e a r n i n g
X I . Develop specific skills, understanding and knowledge which can be used at
articulated institutions and which can be applied to higher levels of learning
X I I . Enhance creative and artistic talents appropriate to the computer science

Courses and Course Sequence
This sequence can be followed by students who begin college-level work in the fall
s e m e s t e r. Prerequisites may apply to specific courses; it is the student’s responsibility
to determine if prerequisites have been met. An academic advisor is provided for each
student. Prior to registering each semester, the student is expected to consult with
