Student responsibilities:<br />

• You are responsible for knowing the graduation requirements for your<br />

major. If you are transferring to a college or university with which<br />

<strong>Pellissippi</strong> <strong>State</strong> does not have an articulation agreement, you need to know<br />

the requirements for graduation for that school.<br />

• You are responsible for providing the appropriate test scores and transcripts.<br />

• You are responsible for obtaining the name of your advisor from P.S. ... Web.<br />

• You are responsible for verifying your major for advisement.<br />

• You are responsible for making an appointment with your advisor and<br />

keeping it.<br />

• You are responsible for knowing important dates on the Academic Calendar<br />

(registration dates, schedule change deadlines, etc.).<br />

• You are responsible for supplying current information about your address,<br />

phone number and major to Admissions and Records.<br />

• You are responsible for obtaining a current Catalog and Handbook and being<br />

familiar with its contents. If you entered <strong>Pellissippi</strong> <strong>State</strong> during a previous<br />

year, you are responsible for following the Catalog and Handbook curriculum<br />

requirements for that year.<br />

• You are responsible for checking your registration status (holds, standing,<br />

etc.) prior to registration.<br />

• You are responsible for registering and making schedule changes in a timely<br />

manner.<br />

• You are responsible for paying all fees in a timely manner.<br />

• You are responsible for learning to access your e-mail account.<br />

• You are responsible for treating others with courtesy and respect.<br />

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES<br />

Fall, Spring and Summer Terms<br />

A student may register for both day and evening classes at the beginning of the<br />

term with the understanding that the <strong>Pellissippi</strong> <strong>State</strong> policy regarding refunds<br />

and registration fees will apply.<br />

PRIORITY REGISTRATION<br />

Priority Registration occurs each term. To priority register, students should<br />

obtain the next semester’s Schedule of Classes and instruction sheets from<br />

Admissions and Records or other designated areas and consult with their advisor<br />

to plan the following term’s schedule.<br />

All registration requirements may be completed during Priority Registration.<br />

Students who priority register must pay fees prior to the Final Registration period<br />

or their schedules will be deleted. Refer to the Academic Calendar for the last day<br />

to pay for Priority Registration each semester. Students who priority register and<br />

are then suspended after grades for the current semester are processed will be notified<br />

of a change of status before the next term’s Final Registration period.<br />

Schedules of suspended students will be dropped.
