CGT 2105 Digital Graphic Design III 4 Credits<br />

Advanced graphic design. Comprehensive projects to include design management, development<br />

A study of electronic publishing, including the integration of text and graphics. A functional<br />

A study of advanced three-dimensional design and construction. Exhibition, package design<br />

Photography<br />

★PHO 1000 Introduction to Photography 3 Credits<br />

A beginning course in the study of photography as visual communication with emphasis on<br />

the 35mm single lens reflex camera. Exposure, metering, focus, depth of field, films, lenses,<br />

electronic flash, basic lighting, and composition are explored. Students are responsible for providing<br />

camera and film. Spring and Fall<br />

PHO 1100 Advanced Photographic Techniques 3 Credits<br />

Advanced exploration of camera controls, photographic systems, lenses, and lighting techniques.<br />

This is a basic hands-on study of advanced photographic theory and how it relates to<br />

portrait, industrial, commercial photography, and other photographic genre. Particular attention<br />

is paid to developing professional skills and attitudes. Students are responsible for providing<br />

camera and film. Spring and Fall. Prerequisite(s): PHO 1000 or consent of instructor<br />

PHO 1200 Art of Photography 3 Credits<br />

A study of the aesthetic elements of photography with the emphasis on developing personal<br />

style. Classic principles of composition are examined as well as the impact of technical<br />

development on the art of photography. Special attention is given to significant photographic<br />

trends and influential photographers in each genre. Spring and Fall<br />

PHO 1500 Black & White Darkroom Techniques 3 Credits<br />

A beginning course developing black and white processing and printing techniques. Specific<br />

attention is paid to the study of chemistry, technique, and films as they relate to density, contrast,<br />

and grain. Creative printing techniques such as burning, dodging, contrast control, and<br />

cropping are explored. Spring and Fall<br />

PHO 1600 Color Printing Techniques 3 Credits<br />

In-depth study of the color photographic process and printing techniques. Topics include<br />

additive and subtractive color, color correction, color processing techniques, and custom printing<br />

techniques including cropping, burning, dodging, color correction, contrast control and<br />

minor retouching. Students are responsible for providing film and paper. Spring and Fall<br />
