★BUS 1010 Basic Business Applications 1 Credit<br />
An online computer literacy course introducing operating system basics, Microsoft<br />
Windows, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint computer applications. This course<br />
equips students with the computer skills needed for future classes and helps them become selflearners<br />
in order to adapt to new computer applications. Timed application exams are included.<br />
P/NP credit only. Spring and Fall Prerequisite(s): OST 1100 or equivalent<br />
★BUS 2010 Business Functions 4 Credits<br />
Understanding how business works through application and integration of fundamental<br />
business functions. Includes aspects of marketing, finance, logistics, operations, organizational<br />
behavior and information management. Spring and Fall Prerequisite(s): ACC 2110 and<br />
ECN 2010; and BUS 1010 or equivalent<br />
CHEMISTRY<br />
◆★CHEM 1010 Principles of Chemistry 4 Credits<br />
Atomic structure, periodic law, bonding, gas laws, liquid and solid states, solutions, acids<br />
and bases, oxidation and reduction reactions and equilibrium. Course includes three hours of<br />
lecture and three hours of laboratory applications each week. Spring and Fall Prerequisite(s):<br />
Two years of high school algebra and completion of DSPmath requirements<br />
◆★CHEM 1020 Basic Organic & Biochemistry 4 Credits<br />
Organic chemistry: alkanes and unsaturated and aromatic hydrocarbons, with emphasis on<br />
structure, nomenclature, and functional groups. Biochemistry: amino acids and proteins, carbohydrates,<br />
lipids, nucleic acids. Course includes three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory<br />
applications each week. Spring and Fall Prerequisite(s): CHEM 1010<br />
◆★CHEM 1110 General Chemistry I 4 Credits<br />
Modern atomic theory, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, kinetics. Course includes three<br />
hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory applications each week. Spring and Fall<br />
Prerequisite(s): Two years of high school algebra and completion of DSPmath requirements<br />
◆★CHEM 1110 Honors Chemistry I 4 Credits<br />
An advanced investigation of atomic theory, chemical bonding, chemical structure and reactions.<br />
Applications are made to current chemistry-related issues of environmental importance.<br />
On Demand Prerequisite(s): One year of high school chemistry and completion of DSP<br />
requirements; and ACT composite score of 25; or consent of instructor<br />
◆★CHEM 1120 General Chemistry II 4 Credits<br />
Chemical equilibrium, thermochemistry, electrochemistry, introduction to organic chemistry.<br />
Course includes three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory applications each<br />
week. Spring and Fall Prerequisite(s): CHEM 1110<br />
◆★CHEM 1120 Honors Chemistry II 4 Credits<br />
An advanced investigation of chemical equilibrium and kinetics, electrochemistry, organic<br />
molecules, and nuclear reactions. Applications are made to current chemistry-related issues of<br />
environmental importance. On Demand Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or better in Honors<br />

◆CHEM 1310 Concepts of Chemistry 3 Credits<br />
Composition of matter, atomic structure, bonding, gas laws, liquid and solid states, solutions,<br />
acids and bases, chemical reactions, nuclear chemistry and technology, polymers, household<br />
chemistry, and introduction to environmental and organic/medicinal chemistry. Course<br />
includes three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory applications each week. This<br />
course will only count toward the education program at Tennessee Technological University<br />
and Lincoln Memorial University. On Demand<br />
