Maritime traffic
2000. The realization schedule of particular interventions in
solving the traffic system will be in accordance with the
economic possibilities and medium-term development plans.
• The Port in Kardeljevo has been defined as the main maritime port for
international and home traffic.
• The biggest part of the traffic the Port of Ploce will be realized to
satisfy needs of the gravitation area. The port has excellent
prospective (possibilities) to increase traffic and foreign trade
exchange (forming of custom zone) and development of other
economic activities connected with the port. With the objective to
increase the port traffic volumes it will be necessary to continue
construction and extension of the operative shores and construction of
modern storage space, modernization of the port machinery and
creation of favorable technical and spatial conditions for maximally
efficient good handling of goods. In the town of Rogotin on the Neretva
River a smaller cargo operative shore will be built.
IX. PROVISIONS FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF CHANGES AND ADDITIONS
INTO SPATIAL PLAN OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KARDELJEVO
• The Spatial Plan has defined the Port of Kardeljevo as the main
maritime port for international and home traffic.
• The Spatial Plan has provided for surface for the extension of the Port
of Ploce covering 410 ha in order to render possible further
development of traffic volumes and foreign trade exchange, forming of
a freight-transportation center and development of other economic
activities connected to the port.
• The Plan provides for construction and extension of the operative
shores, construction of the modern storage space, i.e. creation of
favorable technical and spatial conditions for maximally efficient
handling of goods.
• The Spatial Plan defines the boundaries of the protected costal zone
for the sea shore, .....
• Construction along the sea shore is implemented based on the
detailed zoning plan.
• The sea shore and shore waters shall not be occupied, nor is any
construction allowed in opposition to the spatial plan designation.
• Spatial Plan has defined especially endangered parts of the human
environment::
• The River Neretva
• Costal sea waters from the mouth of the river Neretva to the bay of
Mala Pošta
• Industrial and port operative zones
