This type gear locker will normally be at large<br />
shore units.<br />
(2) Funding: Initial funding may be accomplished by<br />
a combination of appropriated and non-<br />
appropriated funds. Generally, this<br />
determination should be based on the primary<br />
usage, unit versus personal needs. Repair and<br />
replacement of equipment should be accomplished<br />
with non-appropriated funds generated from<br />
rental revenue.<br />
(3) User Fees: Rental fees should be set to at<br />
least cover the operating costs of the gear<br />
locker, including repair and replacement.<br />
14. Commercial Sponsorship Program.<br />
a. Commandant authorizes local MWR programs to<br />
competitively solicit commercial sponsorships for MWR<br />
program events under the conditions contained within<br />
these guidelines.<br />
(1) Solicitation by local MWR programs is limited<br />
to: sports/fitness events; teams and<br />
competition; music and entertainment events; and<br />
festivals and special events.<br />
b. Tobacco sponsorship will not be solicited or<br />
accepted.<br />
C. Alcoholic beverages (including beer) sponsorship will<br />
not be solicited, but may be accepted, under the<br />
following conditions:<br />

If offered, i.e., unsolicited, USCG MWR<br />
activities may accept and participate in any<br />
promotions of these products that are not<br />
directed predominantly or exclusively at the<br />
military market.<br />
Activities may accept unsolicited promotions<br />
provided the alcohol company sponsors similar<br />
events in civilian communities.<br />
Product sampling is not authorized.<br />
