The requested budget supplement is needed to sustain<br />

the core of MWR activities currently offered by<br />

command which benefits all, not just part of the<br />

Coast Guard community.<br />

Grants will not be considered for expansion projects<br />

or to support/offset losses for MWR activities which<br />

are intended to be self sustaining through user fees,<br />

i.e., bowling alleys, <strong>recreation</strong> cottages, etc. Self<br />

sustaining activities are considered to be above the<br />

core of activities and must be operated in a business<br />

manner through increased user fees or closure if<br />

necessary.<br />

following must be included with the request:<br />

A copy of the complete unit MWR budget to<br />

include appropriated and non-appropriated fund<br />

sources:<br />

a narrative description of what MWR services<br />

will not be provided if Grant is not approved:<br />

a description of commands plan to correct the<br />

situation in the long term;<br />

a listing of available community and DOD<br />

facilities in the area:<br />

a statement that AFC-30 funds have been sought<br />

but are not available; and<br />

the ending check book bank balance for the last<br />

four quarters.<br />

Unit requests require District/MLC endorsements.<br />

Endorsements supporting Grant requests must state that<br />

District/MLC non-appropriated funds or AFC-30 MWR funds<br />

are not available to support the budget shortfall.<br />

Submit request via the chain of command to Commandant<br />

(G-PXM).<br />

Commandant (G-PXM) will forward requests to the Coast<br />

Guard Trust Fund Board of Control for approval or<br />

disapproval.<br />
