Defining Control File Settings
Settings in the Repetitive Control File (18.24) differ from those in
Advanced Repetitive.
Next Picklist and P/L Prefix. Same as the Advanced Repetitive
Control File (18.22.24).
Consume Forward and Consume Back. Determines how MFG/PRO
handles excess completions on a given day. These quantities may be
for schedules other than today’s.
When Consume Back or Consume Forward is nonzero, MFG/PRO
looks backward, then forward the specified number of calendar days
for orders with open quantities, and uses the excess to increment the
quantity completed. This process stops when the excess is consumed
or when all days have been searched. If Start of Week is specified,
MFG/PRO stops looking backward when that day is reached.
When Consume Back and Consume Forward are 0, the excess is
placed in inventory and not counted against a schedule.
Start of Week. This field determines how far back to consume excess
completions and count open orders as supply. Values are None,
Sunday–Saturday, or today.
Regardless of the value of Consume Back, MFG/PRO goes back only
as far as the Start of Week. Use this field when you want to bucket
completions by week. Setting Start of Week to Monday and Consume
Back to 7 ensures that all completions count against scheduled orders
for the week.
