24.8 The contractor shall be responsible for injury to any body, breakage, loss or damage
to the equipment, machinery, appliance or properties connected therewith, caused
by the negligence & act of omission or commission by the contractor, their staff,.
24.9 The contractor shall indemnify GAIL for any accidental reason etc. caused by his
labour, defective workmanship etc.
24.10 The contractor shall abide by the rules & regulations of the security. The
contractor’s staff shall have regular uniforms & shoes to be provided by
the contractor. The contractor shall provide one pair personal safety kit
consisting of two nos. of cotton shirt , two nos. of pant and one pair of
industrial safety shoes to its employees every year , photo-passes to the personnel
deployed by him, if any, in connection with the services contracted out
herein, without which the personnel, if any deployed will not be permitted
to enter GAIL premises for security reasons. The contractor is expected to
maintain antecedents of all the personnel deployed for the services
contracted out herein, for security and safety reasons and furnish the
same when called for.
24.11 Any material taken into the building or taken out from the building, shall have
necessary permission from the security personnel/higher authority of the GAIL.
24.12 All services are to be offered as per ISI code of practices, wherever
required/applicable.
24.13 Major repairing work required at service center, major overhauling and top
Overhauling is not covered in this scope of the work.
24.14 Any damage caused by the contractor or his personnel to the building and its
equipments should be repaired/replaced by the contractor at his own cost. If the
repair /replacement job is not done by the contractor within a reasonable time
then, GAIL will get it done and the cost so incurred will be deducted from the
contractor’s bill.
24.15 GAIL will provide a suitable space for the storing of the tools and tackles, spares,
Consumables of the contractor, however, contractor has to make arrangements for
his almirah/locker etc. for the safety of its equipments GAIL will not be
responsible for any misplacement or damage or theft of the contractor’s
equipments or any other articles.
24.16 Water & Electricity will be provided free of cost to the contractor for the
maintenance of the system.
24.17 The contractor shall have the responsibility to co-ordinate control and supervise the
staff and external party called to carry out maintenance job.
24.18 Contractor will have to make all necessary arrangements for security & safety of his
persons and work place like providing safety belts, shoes, helmets, proper
illumination of work place etc.
