8.2. Procedures <strong>for</strong> <strong>Heavy</strong> <strong>Truck</strong> <strong>Duty</strong> <strong>Cycle</strong> <strong>Project</strong><br />

The following set of procedures expands those presented in the Generic<br />

EDAQ Procedures section (Section 8.1) <strong>for</strong> application in the <strong>Heavy</strong> <strong>Truck</strong><br />

<strong>Duty</strong> <strong>Cycle</strong> <strong>Project</strong>.<br />

8.2.1. HTDC Routine Data Upload<br />

NOTE: This procedure is specifically designed <strong>for</strong> periodic data<br />

collection during the HTDC field operational test. This procedure is<br />

primarily <strong>for</strong> reference purposes; the checklist DataUpload.xls (Figure<br />

8.2.1) should be used when uploading data. This checklist appears in<br />

Appendix D: Checklists and Forms.<br />

This procedure begins with the ignition turned ON and the computer<br />

turned ON.<br />

1) Verify that the eDAQ is ON (Green LED on, yellow light<br />

blinking).<br />

NOTE: if the eDAQ does not turn on, follow the procedure in<br />

Section 9.1.2 to recover the SIC files.<br />

2) Connect the computer to the eDAQ.<br />

3) Open TCE (Start > All Programs > SoMat TCE V3.8.6d ><br />

SoMat TCE eDAQ V3.8.6d)<br />

4) Monitor the channels to identify potential problems (Ctrl+0 > RT<br />

Display).<br />

5) Press Ctrl+6 to end the run.<br />

6) Press Ctrl+E to end the test.<br />

7) Press Ctrl+7 to upload the data, saving in the file path shown:<br />

C:\Documents and<br />

Settings\gcp\Desktop\yyyymmdd\HTDC_0_yyyymmdd where<br />

a) 0 = DAS #<br />

b) yyyy = year<br />

c) mm = month<br />

d) dd = day<br />

8) While the data is being uploaded, check the physical condition<br />

of the sensors.<br />

9) When the data upload is completed, press Ctrl+7 again and<br />

save to F:\yyyymmdd\HTDC_0_yyyymmdd<br />

10) In TCE, select FCS Setup > Set FCS Clock.<br />
