Data File numbering issue (DAS # vs. external truck #)<br />

The one-digit DAS number is used to identify the truck in the TCE files<br />

and channel names. This method was chosen because of the<br />

advantages it af<strong>for</strong>ded. A comparison of the advantages and<br />

disadvantages of this method and the external truck ID method is<br />

briefly outlined in Table 9.3.1.<br />

J1939 Requests<br />

In the Transducer Channel Setup, only 14 vehicle bus channels have<br />

requests enabled. Actually, all 30 channels that are collected from the<br />

vehicle bus are being requested; but some share the same PGN with<br />

other vehicle data bus channels. These channels are transmitted<br />

together in the same message, and only one channel per message<br />

needs to be requested. The 14 PGNs requested are as follows:<br />
