Ilfracombe Railway (Abandonment) Act 1868
9.127 The Ilfracombe Railway (Abandonment) Act 1868 248 was passed to authorise the
Ilfracombe Railway Company to abandon a proposed railway in Devon between
Bishop’s Tawton and Ilfracombe. The railway had been authorised by the
Ilfracombe Railway Act 1864. 249 Lack of available finance, however, had made it
impossible to construct the railway. The abandonment of the railway project,
together with the dissolution of the company authorised by the 1868 Act, means
that the 1868 Act itself has now become obsolete.
South-eastern and London, Chatham and Dover (London, Lewes and Brighton)
Railways Act 1866. 251 Lack of available finance, however, had made it impossible
to construct the railway. The abandonment of the railway project means that the
1868 Act itself has now become obsolete.
Southsea in Hampshire. The railway had been authorised by the Southsea
itself has now become obsolete.
