Cheadle Railway (Abandonment) Act 1882<br />

9.151 The Cheadle Railway (Abandonment) Act 1882 298 was passed to authorise the<br />

Cheadle Railway Company to abandon a proposed railway in Staffordshire<br />

between Dilhorne and Cheadle. The railway had been authorised by the Cheadle<br />

Railway Act 1878. 299 The abandonment <strong>of</strong> the railway project, together with the<br />

dissolution <strong>of</strong> the company pursuant to the 1882 Act, means that the 1882 Act<br />

itself has now become obsolete.<br />

Market Deeping Railway (Abandonment) Act 1883<br />

9.152 The Market Deeping Railway (Abandonment) Act 1883 300 was passed to<br />

authorise the Market Deeping Railway Company to abandon a proposed railway<br />

in Lincolnshire running between Helpstone and Market Deeping. The railway had<br />

been authorised by the Market Deeping Railway Act 1878. 301 Lack <strong>of</strong> available<br />

finance, however, had made it impossible to construct the railway. The<br />

abandonment <strong>of</strong> the railway project, together with the dissolution <strong>of</strong> the company<br />

pursuant to the 1883 Act, means that the 1883 Act itself has now become<br />

obsolete.<br />

Upwell Outwell and Wisbech Railway (Abandonment) Act 1884<br />

9.153 The Upwell Outwell and Wisbech Railway (Abandonment) Act 1884 302 was<br />

passed to authorise the Upwell Outwell and Wisbech Railway Company to<br />

abandon a proposed railway in Cambridgeshire, between Wisbech and Upwell.<br />

The railway had been authorised by the Upwell Outwell and Wisbech Railway Act<br />

1873. 303 Lack <strong>of</strong> available finance, however, had made it impossible to construct<br />

the railway. The abandonment <strong>of</strong> the railway project, together with the dissolution<br />

<strong>of</strong> the company pursuant to the 1884 Act, means that the 1884 Act itself has now<br />

become obsolete.<br />

Totnes, Paignton and Torquay Direct Railway (Abandonment) Act 1884<br />

9.154 The Totnes, Paignton and Torquay Direct Railway (Abandonment) Act 1884 304<br />

was passed to authorise the Totnes, Paignton and Torquay Direct Railway<br />

Company to abandon a proposed railway in Devon between Littlehempston and<br />

Paignton. The railway had been authorised by the Totnes, Paignton and Torquay<br />

Direct Railway Act 1880. 305 The abandonment <strong>of</strong> the railway project, together with<br />

the dissolution <strong>of</strong> the company pursuant to the 1884 Act, means that the 1884 Act<br />

itself has now become obsolete.<br />
