Harrow and Rickmansworth Railway (Abandonment) Act 1877
9.138 The Harrow and Rickmansworth Railway (Abandonment) Act 1877 270 was passed
to authorise the Harrow and Rickmansworth Railway Company to abandon a
proposed railway from Rickmansworth (Hertfordshire) to Harrow on the Hill
(Middlesex). The railway had been authorised by the Harrow and Rickmansworth
Railway Act 1874. 271 Lack of available finance, however, had made it impossible
to construct the railway. The abandonment of the railway project, together with
the dissolution of the company pursuant to the 1877 Act, means that the 1877 Act
itself has now become obsolete.
