6.4. UNIARAB: SCREEN DESIGN<br />

In order <strong>to</strong> allow <strong>for</strong> robust user interaction with the lexicon, we use a graphical interface<br />

<strong>to</strong> capture the in<strong>for</strong>mation <strong>for</strong> each part of speech. The user selects the part of speech of<br />

the word he is adding, and is then presented with only the options relevant <strong>to</strong> it. The in-<br />

terface also limits the user’s selections <strong>to</strong> acceptable values and ensures that all attributes<br />

are filled. With this technique, we minimize the risk of human error, and there<strong>for</strong>e the<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation is more accurate. The graphical interface is quicker and easier when a user<br />

adds a new word in the lexical (XML data source). When the system displays an in<strong>for</strong>-<br />

mation error. Figure 6.14 shows the entry interface that is implemented as part of the<br />

UniArab system.<br />
