6 UniArab: a proof-of-concept Arabic to English machine translation system This chapter presents an Arabic to English machine translator system, called UniArab. UniArab is a proof-of-concept translation system supporting the fundamental aspects of Arabic, such as the parts of speech, agreement and tenses. UniArab stands for Universal Arabic machine translator system. UniArab is based on the linking algorithm of RRG (syntax to semantics and vice versa) as indicated in Figure 6.1.
