BACKGROUND/RATIONALE:<br />

During <strong>City</strong> Council's review <strong>of</strong> the Short-Term Rental section <strong>of</strong> the Zoning Ordinance,<br />

the Planning Department identified multiple residential neighborhoods with zoning other<br />

than residential. Council directed the Planning Division to have neighborhood meetings<br />

to explain the purpose <strong>of</strong> residential zoning and pursue rezoning to an appropriate<br />

district.<br />

The original master plan for the Oak Run Subdivision was approved in 1983. A public<br />

neighborhood meeting for the Oak Run Subdivision was held on September 14, 201 0 to<br />

explain the purpose <strong>of</strong> zoning the neighborhood to reflect the existing residential use.<br />

Approximately 23 residents attended. Those in attendance were supportive <strong>of</strong> the<br />

concept to change their zoning to R-1 A-6.6 Single Family District. Public notice was<br />

sent to all 133 property owners regarding the public hearing process to <strong>of</strong>ficially change<br />

the zoning <strong>of</strong> their property.<br />
