SUBJECT: Approval of a resolution approving a boundary agreement among the City of New
Braunfels, City of Schertz, Dennis R. Engel and Jeannine C. Engel, and David W. Engel and
Monika M. Engel
8ACKGROUND/RA TIONALE:
Dennis Engel and wife, Jeannine C. Engel and David W. Engel and wife, Monika M. Engel own
properties currently within the extraterritorial jurisdiction ("ET J") of the City of Schertz and Schertz
is in the process of annexing properties within its ET J. The Engels desire to be in the ET J and be
annexed by the City of New Braunfels rather than the City of Schertz and Schertz has agreed to
release the Engel properties from its ET J to the ET J of New Braunfels provided that the City of
New Braunfels agrees to annex the properties no later than December 31, 2011 . The Boundary
Agreement sets out the conditions and covenants with regard to the transfer of the properties
from Schertz ET J to the New Braunfels ET J and subsequent annexation by New Braunfels.
