Camp Comal Trail
Existing use of the
park is strictly softball.
There is no visible
connection to the
river. Redevelopment
of this park with a trail
will provide a unique
opportunity to the City.
As mentioned in the previous Chapter of this Master Plan, Camp Carnal has great potential to become a river
access focal point in the City. The park is located along the Guadalupe River; however there is connection to
the water front. It is proposed that a trail be developed around Camp Coma I which is adjacent to the river. It
should be 10 feet wide to allow for multiple users.

High Cost Range: $1,500,000
Priority Level: High
Proposed Trail Surface: Concrete (because of the potential for flood damage)

Potential Funding Sources: general fund, certificates of obligation, revenue bonds, naming rights, sponsorships,
TPWD grant opportunity.
