SUBJECT: Discuss and consider approval of a resolution adopting the 2010 Parks,
Recreation and Open Space Strategic Plan.
BACKGROUND/RATIONALE:
City Council was presented the 2010 Parks, Recreation and Open Space Strategic Plan on
September 27, 2010 for consideration.
This plan serves as a roadmap for the Parks and Recreation Department to set priorities for the
next 5 - 10 years.
By officially adopting this plan, the City of New Braunfels will be able to submit the plan to the
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for consideration and become eligible for grant funding.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board approved the Strategic Plan and Hike/Bike Plan on
May 4, 2010.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the resolution for the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Strategic
Plan.
