26. Carl Walther became Chairman of the Classification Sub-Committee of
the German Standards Institue and like Bradford, was an ardent «decimalist».
He was mainly responsible for the 1932 Abridged German
edition and worked for twenty years (1934—1953) for the completion of
the full edition. He died at the age of 84 in 1960.
