Local Option Capital Projects Fund (3020)
This fund was created in FY11 (Ordinance 996-G) in response to new GASB 54 requirements. It was previously classified as a
Special Revenue Fund (1003). The Local Option Capital Project Fund accounts for revenue received from the City's share of
Pinellas County Local Option Sales Surtax (F.S. 212.055) to fund transportation activities, purchase public safety vehicles, and
make improvements to parks, buildings, roads, and other infrastructure. Revenue in excess of what is budgeted in the four
penny funds will be deposited into this fund for future use in the penny funds.
