Local Option <strong>Capital</strong> Projects Fund (3020)<br />

This fund was created in FY11 (Ordinance 996-G) in response to new GASB 54 requirements. It was previously classified as a<br />

Special Revenue Fund (1003). The Local Option <strong>Capital</strong> Project Fund accounts for revenue received from the City's share of<br />

Pinellas County Local Option Sales Surtax (F.S. 212.055) to fund transportation activities, purchase public safety vehicles, and<br />

make improvements to parks, buildings, roads, and other infrastructure. Revenue in excess of what is budgeted in the four<br />

penny funds will be deposited into this fund for future use in the penny funds.<br />
