City of St. Petersburg, Florida – FY 2012 Adopted Fiscal Plan 2012 thru 2016 Capital Improvement Plan – Project Descriptions by Fund Water Resources Capital Projects Fund (4003) Project Descriptions FY 2012 Adopted Wastewater Treatment - Northwest WRF - Aeration Basin Structural Repairs 400,000 This project will make structural repairs to the concrete walls, support beams, and pilings in the north aeration basin with coating repairs to the walls of the north aeration and chlorine contact basins. Wastewater Treatment - Northwest WRF - Dewatering Improvements (Belt-Filter Press Repl) 1,563,000 This project supports the replacement and improvement of the biosolids dewatering facility converting to newer and more efficient technologies. Operating Impact: FY12 - ($9,266). Wastewater Treatment - Northwest WRF - Improvements - Disinfect Basin 250,000 This project includes the repair of channel walls and improvements to increase disinfection efficiency. Wastewater Treatment - Northwest WRF - Improvements - Electrical Rehabilitation 2,674,000 This project consists of improvements or replacements of electical equipment throughout the NWWRF including, but not limited to, the main circuit breakers, motor control centers (MCCs), wiring, and other electrical equipment. Wastewater Treatment - Southwest WRF - Headworks & Screen Modifications 700,000 This project involves improvements to the headworks grit and screening structure and includes adding a third bar screen to increase the hydraulic capacity of the headworks. Wastewater Treatment - Southwest WRF - Reject Water Piping and Pumping 960,000 This project will enhance and improve the piping and pumping systems to allow reject water to be re-treated at the most efficient point in the plant. Rejected water can be sent to the head of the plant, the chlorine contact basin, or the effluent filters depending on the level of re-treatment required. Wastewater Treatment - Southwest WRF - Improvements - Replace MCC-4B 100,000 This project replaces a 1985 vintage motor control center (MCC) that provides electrical control for the belt filter presses (BFP). Reclaimed System Improvements - Flushing Appurtenance 50,000 This is a new program to replace blow off and air releases on the reclaimed water system. Reclaimed System Improvements - New Reclaimed Serv. Taps & Backflows 75,000 This is a continuing program to provide reclaimed water service taps and backflow devices to new and/or existing utility customers. Reclaimed System Improvements - PCCP Replacement Phase II 2,000,000 This project includes the repair and replacement of an existing 35-inch and 30-inch reclaimed water transmission main. Reclaimed System Improvements - Reclaim Extensions 250,000 This is a continuing program to expand the reclaimed system to serve additional customers. Reclaimed System Improvements - Reclaimed Water Main Replacement 50,000 This is a continuing program to provide for the replacement and/or upgrade of reclaimed water distribution lines 2" and larger within the City's service area. City of St. Petersburg, Florida – FY 2012 Adopted Fiscal Plan 2012 thru 2016 Capital Improvement Plan – Project Descriptions by Fund Water Resources Capital Projects Fund (4003) Project Descriptions FY 2012 Adopted Environmental Compliance - Laboratory Improvements 225,000 This project will accomplish the refurbishing of the laboratory facilities, as well as continuing the scheduled replacement of the labs analytical instrumentation and support equipment. The laboratory is over 20 yrs old and requires replacement items such as work stations, carpeting and enhancement of the HVAC. The building requires plumbing and wall units for storage. Several instruments while still in good operating condition will need replacing when manufacturer no longer offers support. Computerized Systems - Computer Hardware/Software Replacement 150,000 This project provides for software and hardware replacement and enhancements to Water Resources Department Work in Asset Management (WAM), Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems that insure regulatory compliance and increase the effectiveness of operations. Computerized Systems - SCADA Server Replacement 70,000 This project includes the replacement of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) file servers at three wastewater reclamation facilities. BABs Projects TBD 517,000 This funding is for projects yet to be determined that will be funded from Build America Bonds (BABs).
