Water Resources <strong>Capital</strong> Projects Fund (4003)<br />

This fund was established to support water, wastewater, and reclaimed system projects. The main sources of revenue for this<br />

fund are Public Utility Revenue Bonds, which are issued periodically, and annual transfers from the Water Resources<br />

<strong>Operating</strong> Fund. This five-year plan includes bond issues to respond to the recommendations indentified in the Sanitary Sewer<br />

Evaluation Study (SSES) prepared by Tampa Bay Engineering Inc.<br />

Water Treatment/Supply - Cosme WTP <strong>Improvement</strong>s - Enhanced Water Treatment Phase 2 500,000<br />

This project includes the addition of enhanced water treatment techniques possibly including pH adjustment using caustic soda<br />

and/or muriatic acid, soda ash addition for sulfate removals, enhanced softening, polyphosphate blends for corrosion control,<br />

and pH meters for the softening basins for chemical pacing.<br />

Water Treatment/Supply - Cosme WTP <strong>Improvement</strong>s - Header/Sequence Valves 4,341,000<br />

This project replaces antiquated header and sequence valves and their controls on the discharge of the high service pumps. The<br />

header and sequence valves perform the valuable function of pump flow control and also provide surge protection in<br />

conjunction with the surge tanks at the plant. The existing sequence valve operation is from a hard wired relay panel that dates<br />

from the 1960's. The sequence valve controls will be replaced with a modern computer (PLC) based controller.<br />

Water Treatment/Supply - Cosme WTP <strong>Improvement</strong>s - Laboratory Rehabilitation 361,000<br />

This project replaces the air handling system, fume hood, rusted out cabinets, and other corroded equipment in the laboratory at<br />

the Cosme Water Treatment Plant. This appropriation supports the construction phase. The design phase was funded in<br />

FY11.<br />

Oberly PS <strong>Improvement</strong> - Main Building Structure Rehab 329,000<br />

This project includes the plans and specifications of addressing the exterior structure of the building including the walls and<br />

roofs.<br />

Water Distribution System Imp - Aqueous Bridge Crossing 400,000<br />

This is a program to provide replacement and repair of the subaqueous pipe and bridge crossings.<br />

Water Distribution System Imp - Aqueous Bridge Crossing 4 S/S over Salt Creek 50,000<br />

This project replaces the water main installed on the bridge located on 4th Street over Salt Creek.<br />

Water Distribution System Imp - FDOT US 19/Whitney Road 4,020,000<br />

This project reimburses FDOT for funding the relocation of portions of 48-inch water transmission main performed through a<br />

Joint Participation Agreement.<br />

Water Distribution System Imp - FDOT 4th Street Miling & Resurfacing 5th A/N 37,000<br />

This project relocates existing City water mains that are in conflict with a FDOT road improvement project.<br />

Water Distribution System Imp - FDOT 118th Ave N Overpass from US 19 to Roosevelt 100,000<br />

This project relocates existing City 36" water transmission mains that are in conflict with a FDOT road improvement project.<br />

Water Distribution System Imp - PC Valve & MH Replacement 25,000<br />

This project adjusts or replaces water main valve covers within Pinellas County and FDOT road project limits.<br />

Water Distribution System Imp - PC Forest Lakes Blvd Pavement Rehab 200,000<br />

This project relocates an existing City 36" water transmission main that is in conflict with a Pinellas County road improvement<br />

project.<br />

Water Distribution System Imp - PC Park St Bridge (5th and 9th A/N) 75,000<br />

This project relocates a water main that is in conflict with a Pinellas County bridge project.<br />
