4 COMPONENT PLANNING CRITERIA<br />

EXISTING CONDITIONS<br />

The existing Pier extends 1440’-0” into Tampa Bay with an<br />

observation deck located 1140’-0” from shore. As a means<br />

<strong>of</strong> maintaining and enhancing the experience <strong>of</strong> the existing<br />

Pier, the new Pier extends 1247’-0 into Tampa Bay and has<br />

observation platforms located 1181’-0” from shore, enhancing<br />

the viewing experience <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong>’s skyline.<br />

Figures 4.2 and 4.3 describe and compare the general attributes<br />

<strong>of</strong> the existing and proposed Piers in plan and elevation. Figure<br />

4.4 provides a three-dimensional comparison between the<br />

existing Inverted Pyramid building and the new Pier.<br />
