Abstact:<br />

The course examines both communication in organizations and public relations. It aims to give students significant<br />

skills for establishing, maintaining and improving communication channels in business organizations and<br />

organizing the public relations activities. The course examines different types of communication structures and<br />

means of communication, ways of achieving good communications and public relations.<br />

Course content:<br />

The course covers the following topics: Functions of business communication; Main types of communication<br />

structures and networks; Interpersonal and organizational communications; Basic communicative skills; Rules of<br />

business communications; Effective communications; Public Relations – nature and objectives; style and image;<br />

Social responsibilities of business organizations; organizing public relations activities; ways and methods of<br />

choosing communication channels and media for carrying out PR activities; Effective strategies, tactics for PR<br />

campaigns.<br />

Teaching and assessment:<br />

The training is conducted by means of lectures and seminars and involves case – study, doing tests and quizzes,<br />

some genuine research. Continuous assessment is applied to check the students’ knowledge during seminars.<br />

The students receive individual tasks as course assignment and thus they learn to apply on their own and<br />

creatively the new knowledge and skills and solve practical corporate problems. To have the semester validated,<br />

students are required to submit and defend their course assignment in due time and attend the practical exercises<br />

regularly. Two tests are the Term’s form of control.<br />

Abstract:<br />

The Business Correspondence course is included as a compulsory subject of the Business Administration<br />

curriculum degree programme and aims at providing fundamental knowledge and skills for carrying out successful<br />

business communication in the company. It also introduces the idea of writing business letters and understanding<br />

administrative documents.<br />

Course content:<br />

The essence of business correspondence. Documents. Types of documents. Administrative documents:<br />

application, complaint, proposal, report, memo, declaration, order, offer, warrant of attorney, minutes, enquiry, CV.<br />

Business letters – essence and types. Business letter writing. The enquiry. Replies to enquiries: offers. Orders and<br />

execution of orders. Invoicing, accounting and settling of accounting. Banking and payments in foreign trade.<br />

Complaints and replies to complaints.<br />

Teaching and assessment:<br />

Training is conducted by means of lecturers and seminars. At seminars students are asked to do various tasks like<br />

reading and analysing model documents, writing business letters, etc. Continuous assessment is the type of<br />

control applied during the semester. It is in the form of two tests (TT1 and TT2), and student’s performance. The<br />

final mark is the average of the TT1 and TT2 marks.<br />
