Professional Qualification: Electronics Engineer<br />

Duration: 4 years (8 terms)<br />

The main goal of the Electronics degree course is to prepare highly-qualified engineers with a BEng<br />

degree.<br />

The professional suitability of a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics is to accomplish a survey, to<br />

design, to adopt, to exploit different electronic devices and systems, to carry out investigations, to<br />

implement and utilize, to perform manufacturing, technological, company and service activities related<br />

to electronics and the application of electronics.<br />

A Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics should possess high professional expertise and<br />

considerable linguistic competence as well as knowledge in the area of economics, management and<br />

marketing.<br />

His/her education should be based on:<br />

• broad-based training that includes the study of mathematics, physics, electrical engineering,<br />

electronics, general engineering subjects, foreign languages, etc.;<br />

• specialised training which includes the study of signals and systems, semiconductor components,<br />

computer architecture, analog circuits, theory of control engineering, digital devices, power<br />

supply, microprocessor systems, design and technology of electronic systems, measurements in<br />

electronic conversion equipment, design and technology of electronic elements, automation of the<br />

design in electronics, electronic control devices, electronic regulators, optoelectronics and laser<br />

devices in industry, special and power semiconductor components, electronic converters of<br />

signals, industrial controllers, special topics on microprocessor systems, broadcasting equipment,<br />

television and video equipment, audio engineering, microwave equipment, etc.<br />

A Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics should have the following skills:<br />

• to apply creatively in practice the acquired knowledge;<br />

• to apply complex technical and economical approaches and modern methods and tools for solving<br />

engineering tasks.<br />

• to design and maintain modern electronic systems;<br />

• to develop and adapt creatively electronic systems for different industry sectors, medicine and<br />

social life.<br />

• To be able to accomplish investigation, exploitation, maintenance and management in small and<br />

medium-sized companies, as well as to be able to organize and manage his/her own electronics –<br />

based business.<br />
