Faculty of EEEA<br />

Every year, 35 students were taught within ERASMUS, DAAD and other international programmes,<br />

initiated and managed by lecturers from the Faculty. Bilateral agreements have been signed with 41<br />

universities from European countries, such as Great Britain, Germany, France, Portugal, Denmark,<br />

Sweden, Finland, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Austria, and Greece. The Faculty is initiator and Coordinator<br />

of three Thematic Networks under the ERASMUS Programme, in a partnership uniting more than 65<br />

universities and companies from 31 European countries.<br />

The teaching of foreign undergraduate and PhD students is a characteristic feature of FEEEA activities.<br />

Since the establishment of the Faculty, 70 foreign students from 16 countries have been trained and 3<br />

Doctoral theses have been defended by foreign citizens.<br />

There are 7 departments that operate within the Faculty – ‘Electric Power Engineering’, ‘Electronics’,<br />

‘Automatics and Mechatronics’, ‘Computing’, ‘Telecommunications’, ‘Theoretical and Measuring<br />

Electrical Engineering’, ‘Physics’. The management bodies of the Faculty are the Faculty Assembly, the<br />

Faculty and Dean’s Councils, and the departments are managed by Departmental Councils and the<br />

Heads of Departments.<br />

The good quality of the knowledge taught to the students is aided by modern laboratory facilities and the<br />

cooperation with a number of companies, such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric’,<br />

‘MOELLER company’, ‘Comhard’, etc., which helped to set up a fully-equipped electrical laboratory<br />

and computer rooms for free access and teaching purposes. Undergraduate and PhD students are<br />

given unlimited INTERNET access and the respective online services.<br />
