Abstract:
The Master Thesis is one of the main components of the master’s degree course in Telecommunication Networks.
It provides the following opportunities to the students completing the master’s degree: to demonstrate their abilities
to plan and implement a considerable and original project in the field of telecommunications; to demonstrate selfdependent
work, initiative and professional competency. The Master Thesis is a solution of an engineering
problem which is developed under the supervision of a scientific advisor. The aim is to enable the students to
demonstrate the knowledge and skills gained during their education. The project has to be presented and
defended in front of a state board of examiners.
Course content:
The Master Thesis consists of a written report that comprises references, ideas, existing solutions to the problem,
analysis, calculations, descriptions and conclusions, a graphical part including the principal circuit diagrams of the
elements and devices, block and structural diagrams, charts presenting the test results and a model or a prototype
made by the graduates.
Teaching and assessment:
The Department of Telecommunications is responsible for the organization of the approval and announcement of
the Master Thesis topics as well as for the supervision, review and public defence of the Master Thesis. The
students have tutorials with their supervisors during the development of the Master Thesis. The State Board of
examiners assesses the project and the student’s defence with two separate grades.
