~ site/domain: restricts results to a specific <strong>web</strong>site or domain, including a specific<br />

top-level domain. Can be used with or without keywords.<br />

Advanced Search> SitelDomain returns results from specific domains (com, gov,<br />

dell.com, a country digraph, etc.)<br />

Examples of how to use <strong>the</strong> site: command:<br />

[site:amazon.com] finds www.amazon.com.auction.amazon.com.<br />

www.amazon.com/dvd/. However, it will not find www.amazon.com.br.<br />

[books -site:amazon.com] finds pages containing <strong>the</strong> keyword "books" that are<br />

not at any amazon.com <strong>web</strong>site.<br />

[site:ir] finds all <strong>the</strong> pages from <strong>the</strong> Iranian (.ir) top-level domain indexed by Live<br />

Search.<br />

~ country/region: on <strong>the</strong> Advanced menu; it is identical to <strong>the</strong> site/domain search<br />

for a country digraph . However, if you do not know a country's top-level domain,<br />

you can use <strong>the</strong> Country/Region pull-down menu to select <strong>the</strong> country, and Live<br />

Search will automatically enter <strong>the</strong> correct country digraph for you.<br />

~ language: restricts results to pages in a specific language. Users must specify a<br />

language using <strong>the</strong> two-letter code or use Advanced Search . Can be used with or<br />

without additional keywords.<br />

Advanced Search> Language uses pull-down menu to select languages.<br />

Examples of how to use <strong>the</strong> language: command:<br />

[Ianguage:ro] restricts results to sites written in Romanian.<br />

[Ianguage:es domain:mx mexico] restricts results to sites written in Spanish in <strong>the</strong><br />

Mexican top-level domain that contain <strong>the</strong> term "mexico."<br />

~ uri: unlike Google's uri query, Live's uri query checks to see if <strong>the</strong> domain or <strong>web</strong><br />

address is in <strong>the</strong> Live Search index. This query is not really intended to be used<br />

with o<strong>the</strong>r search terms.<br />

Examples of how to use <strong>the</strong> uri: command:<br />

[url:nasa.gov] or [url:education.jpl.nasa.gov] will check to see if a site is indexed<br />

by Live Search .<br />

~ inurl: restricts results to pages that contain search terms within <strong>the</strong> uri of a site.<br />

Multiple terms can be used, but all must appear in <strong>the</strong> uri (this query is similar to<br />

Google's allinurl : query).<br />
