How to Encrypt a File<br />

You can e"crwt fiies only on volumes that are formatted with <strong>the</strong> mF5 fIe system. To encrvpt a file:<br />

Notice that only <strong>the</strong> user who encrypted <strong>the</strong> file or folder can open, copy, or<br />

move that file or folder. If you keep information such as your passwords, financial<br />

information, etc., on your computer, especially if that computer is connected to <strong>the</strong><br />

Internet, you should encrypt those files. In addition to adding a password to a<br />

sensitive Microsoft Office files, it is also a very good idea to encrypt those files as<br />

Internet Explorer uses caching to save <strong>web</strong>site information as you browse in order to<br />

allow faster access to pages you frequently visit. The actual copies of <strong>web</strong>pages are<br />

stored in <strong>the</strong> Temporary Internet Files folder on your hard drive. Normally, this<br />

process is a benefit to users, but <strong>the</strong>re is one circumstance in which you do not want<br />
