career, danger, both same gender, etc.). Think<br />

In kink vernacular this refers to sexual practices<br />

which are conventional and unremarkable -- in<br />

fanfic this can be used as a disparaging term for<br />

boring, unimaginative erotica.<br />

A very short story dealing with a single brief period<br />

<strong>of</strong> time, a single subject (an event, an emotion, a<br />

relationship, etc.), and <strong>of</strong>ten only a single character.<br />

Rarely action-oriented, vignettes are usually involve<br />

a character's internal dialogue as they muse over<br />

something that's already happened, debate<br />

something yet to be faced, or simply "enjoy the<br />

moment." By necessity, drabbles are always<br />

vignettes.<br />

"Warm And Fuzzy Feeling" -- describes any cute<br />

sappy pointless fic, sometime but not always<br />

involving g-rated romance. Most Rogue/Gambit<br />

fiction can be placed in this category. Anime<br />

WAFFs, however, almost never involve romance.<br />

Short for kawaii, which Japanese for "cute." A<br />

girlish exclamation <strong>of</strong> adoration/happiness.<br />

Self-important arrogance -- usually in reference to<br />

humorless elitist fans with massively bloated egos,<br />

Tales which revolve around a relationship between<br />

two main characters in which one <strong>of</strong> the characters<br />

Warlord/Slave<br />

assumes a "warlord" persona while the other is<br />

their servant or slave. Often seen in XC stories.<br />

"Work In Progress" -- a story <strong>who</strong>se ending has not<br />

WIP yet been written or a rough draft which has not<br />

been thoroughly betaread.<br />
